Abstract

Delivering an effective data-driven presentation to a nontechnical live audience isn’t the same as  discussing technical details with peers or delivering a written document. You must be purposeful and  diligent if you want to develop a presentation that conveys a compelling story while simultaneously  avoiding myriad traps that undercut your credibility and limit your impact.  

 

Based on the new book Winning The Room, this workshop will provide concrete strategies and practical  tips to clarify, simplify, and refine data-driven presentations in a way that maximizes comprehensibility  without sacrificing accuracy. It will also utilize instructive and memorable visuals that illustrate how you  can drive your points home and help your audience understand and retain your message. 

 

The content will be a mix of presentation content and hands-on group breakout sessions. Breakouts will  include opportunities to critique and discuss what the good and bad points are related to real example  presentations. 

By following the advice discussed in this workshop, you’ll get better at creating and delivering data driven presentations that provide information in a manner enabling it to be received, understood, and  embraced by your audience.
